FOOTBALL COACH ROBIN BIVONA

Orange County Pop Warner Youth Football After a hiatus in 2011 to get a business related move to Los Angeles in order, Coach Bivona is on the 2012 Alexander Hamilton High School varsity football staff as Passing Game and Quarterbacks Coach as well as Video/Scouting coordinator. Robin coached at Mater Dei High School under Head Coach Bruce Rollinson and Offensive Coordinator Dave Money as Varsity Scouting/Video Coordinator and Offensive Backs Coach from 2007 until moving to Los Angeles in 2011. He also served under Coach Jim Hartigan and Offensive Coordinator Sergio Muniz at Santa Margarita High School as a Running Backs/Defensive Backs/JV Coach in 2002.

Robin is no longer affiliated with Junior All American or Pop Warner football.

In 2006 Coach Robin returned to the Mission Viejo Cowboys in 2006 and was charged with building the Cowboys Junior Pee Wee Blue team. Coach Bivona was also honored to be named Head Coach of the Orange County Junior All American Football All Conference Junior Pee Wee "Red" team in the 19th Annual OCJAAF All Conference game. Coach Bivona and his Orange County coaching staff led his team of 51 players to a thrilling 14-12 victory over the heavily favored Los Angeles County "Blue" team.

Robin was a Head Coach and Executive Board Member of South Coast Pop Warner (SCYF) from 2002 through 2005. Robin led the charge in making SCYF the first and only youth football league in Southern California to become an Official Partner of Positive Coaching Alliance (www.positivecoach.org). Robin’s drive to instill PCA’s programming was a testament to his desire to help SCYF have all possible tools in place to allow and encourage all SCYF coaches, Board Members, and parents to create the best possible youth sports experience for the kids. SCYF grew from 175 participants to 375 participants during his tenure on the Board.

In 2005 Coach Robin's South Coast Tritons Junior Pee Wee football team was awarded the prestigious WARREN FERGUSON Orange Empire Conference Pop Warner SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD. Head Coach Robin Bivona: "Our team was #1 in sportsmanship this season out of 50 OEC Junior Pee Wee Division I & Division II teams! CONGRATULATIONS to each and every player for upholding all that you were taught and all that you know about good sportsmanship and good character. Congratulations to our Coaches for teaching excellent sportsmanship and for leading by example. Thank You to our Positive Parents who encouraged our kids all year from the stands and from home! I am so proud of you all! Thank You to Positive Coaching Alliance for helping us set the bar". The 2005 award represented the 3rd consecutive season that a South Coast Pop Warner Football team has won.

Robin is a Southern California native and a Laguna Niguel resident serving in his 11th year as a football coach. His philosophical ideals are simple and strong: "I believe that there is no greater treasure in this world than our children. The good and the bad that exists are directly related to the greatness or the neglect of parents." Robin's views on coaching: "I also believe that coaches can be some of the most influential people in a child's life. I feel that a great coach is a great teacher. We need to care about each and every player and teach them as efficiently and effectively about the game as we are capable. Above all, the sports experience needs to be FUN, yet competitive, so the kids stay involved and absorb the tremendous life benefits that athletics can offer."

Coach Bivona has also served as an assistant football coach at Mater Dei High School (1997-1998, 2007) and Santa Margarita Catholic High School (2002) here in So Cal, and youth football in the Green Mountain Midget League (1993-1994) in Denver, Colorado. Robin's other prior youth football Head Coaching experience has been with Junior All American Football teams in Mission Viejo (Cowboys - 1996) and South Orange County (Patriots - 1995).

Coach Bivona played semi-pro football in Denver, Colorado with the North City Sharks and Denver Warriors as a Wide Receiver, Tight End, and Cornerback. He played those same positions in High School in chilly Iowa as well.
